Otovent glue ear treatment device (nasal balloon) allows for a safe, natural treatment of glue ear and relieves the symptoms without drugs or surgery. It works by using pressure to open the eustachian tube and allows the fluid that has been collected in the middle ear to drain naturally down the back of the throat. The Otovent glue ear remedy procedure can be performed at home under the supervision of parents. The treatment takes only a matter of seconds to perform, and is painless. Otovent glue ear treatment should be used 2-3 times daily for a period of 2-3 weeks. Otovent balloons should be changed every 3 days. When the balloon is inflated to a grapefuit size the technique is correct and therefore optimum benefits from the treatment will be gained. You will know that the treatment works if your child experiences a pressure increase and/or a "pop" in the ear. If the ear does not “pop” upon inflation, the patient should swallow as the balloon deflates back through the nasal passage way.
